Tips to Avoid Internet Scams

There’s no doubt that internet is full of make money online programs. My bad news for you is that there are also tons of Affiliate Marketing Scam Programs and you should know how to avoid them.

The affiliate marketing industry is growing constantly, as more and more people become aware of it. However, if you want to save money and time, then you should pay attention to what I’m going to write below.

What Is Actually An Online Scam and How Is Related To Affiliate Marketing?

‘’A scam is a term used to describe any fraudulent business or scheme that takes money or other goods from an unsuspecting person.’’

Unfortunately, online scams have increased, and it’s often up to you to help stay cautious with people or affiliate marketing programs on the Internet.

Online scams have increased because more people move their spending online and, also, because more people are looking for affiliate marketing training programs or help. So, this is a good opportunity for scammers.

Here Are Some Tips On How To Avoid Affiliate Marketing Scams

Always do research before joining an Affiliate Marketing product or program and look for the next criteria:

  • positive & negative reviews about the product/program
  • how much does product/program cost
  • product/program complaints
  • is the product/program a scam or is legit
  • is product/program worth the money?

Always read the negative reviews about the product or program, not only the positive reviews.

If you found programs which guarantees you success and money overnight, you should avoid them. Affiliate Marketing business involves work and dedication, that’s why a legit program will never promise you that you will get rich overnight.

Most legitimate programs offer a free trial of the product or program. Always take your time to test it before you take a decision.

Check for contact information about the program. If it does not give you these details, then run away. There is a high chance that it is a scam.

If a product or program tries to convince you that this is a “limited time” offer and you have to act now, I would suggest you take your time to fully understand what are you signing up for.

If the product or program does not offer you enough information about what you will get into after signing up, then is most probably a scam.

** If the product or program hits any one of the scam alerts listed above, then act with caution.

  1. Thank You Anatolie,

Your article on tips to avoid internet scams is a real eye-opening and I know it is going to go a long way to help many out there who’re looking for an online opportunity to make some money. It will especially help newbies who’re often victims to scammers because of their lack of experience on the internet.

I often do a lot of research about any online offer before even trying it. And especially if asks for my Credit Card information. I cautiously do my diligent research before going in for it. That is if it’s something legitimate.

I will run away from any program that promises of overnight riches since I know myself what it takes to make money online and I think everyone has the responsibility to learn more about scammers and to avoid them.

Thanks a lot for this valuable information.

    • Hi Stephen,
You are welcome! I’m glad that my article was useful to you.

      All the best!

  2. I couldn’t agree more. I have fallen in the past for some scams. Also, I have paid for programs that were not necessarily scams but rather did not provide enough help or information for a person to be successful with.  To have access to the “good” information always seems to come with spending more money for the upgrade/upsell.

    • Hi Tom,
I understand you very well. I have also been scammed many times. However, I didn’t give up. In fact, this is part of the road to success.

The internet is full of ”work from home” opportunities and many of these opportunities are scams. That’s why I only recommend legit programs as Wealthy Affiliate Platform. I’m not saying that there are no other legit programs on the internet but for me, WA is the best one.

      Thank you for your comment.

    • Hi Rachelle,

Thanks for commenting and joining the discussion.
Wish you all the best in your online business.

  3. Thank you for this information on how to spot and avoid internet scams. The one thing that would definitely be a big red flag is if the program promises overnight riches. I haven’t yet to hear of one that actually works and I have learned that the only real way to become an instant millionaire is to win the lottery.

One could also check if the email address provided is a legit one as most of the time they aren’t.

It would be wonderful if there was a sort of internet police that could go around shutting these sorts of scam sites down

  4. Scammers are all over the internet and they are like a roaring lion looking for someone to capture.

I like the aspect of your reviews a lot and when I was looking for information on online marketing after getting scammed, the help that I got was your genuine review about Wealthy Affiliate which guided me.

Thanks for those lovely tips which provide a source of information to the readers on what exactly do.
